About Friends

The Truth About Elvie website is a collaborative project of the Friends of Elvie.

Many of these friends have been a part of her life for several decades and know (in great detail) the facts of Elvie's confinements in (and the rescues from) various "care" facilities.

Others involved have known her on a less personal level, but respect and appreciate the dynamic powerhouse she has been for years in issues important to many Texans.

As Elvie's experience demonstrates, it is easy to get lost in the maze of facilities when family or friends are not willing or able to be actively involved. There are resources and ways to keep loved ones safe with the help of active advocates. Until Mid-November 2021, Elvie was very active and engaged then... she was not to be seen. Something in Elvie's case went terribly wrong...
