Just prior to the Republican Primary Election of 2024, John Devine's seat on the Texas Supreme Court was challenged by Judge Brian Walker. He was featured in a malicious attack video he helped fund entitled "Devine Injustice." Walker appeared in the video with Elvie's disgruntled niece, Michelle Hartman to engage in the smear campaign against John (and Nubia) Devine.
Walker's deceptive actions were of particular interest to me for a variety of reasons.
First, I have been friends with John and Nubia for about 16 years and I know them to be kind, honorable and Godly people. Further, I know Elvie from attending campaign events for John hosted in her home.
After seeing Walker's video, I reached out to several of Elvie's long-time friends who know Elvie well and were knowledgeable of the situation she was placed in.
Our many discussions revealed significant information about Elvie and the dynamics of her family, which Elvie's niece likely did not share with Walker as they schemed to defeat John in the primary and remove him as the appointed Kingston Trustee/Executor. The old "kill two birds with one stone" plan of action in play.
Facts Matter - they are the foundation for the research presented here to help restore the reputations of both John and Nubia but even more importantly, to expose the neglect Elvie endured during her months-long confinement by her niece which finally ended after two true friends rescued her TWICE from sub-standard facilities she was finally found in!
Since I was a legal secretary for approximately 20 years and worked for an attorney who specialized in Estate Planning and Probate matters, I am very familiar with the documents of record relating to Elvie's Guardianship case and the John and Elvie Kingston Estate/Trust matters.
Additionally, I was a Nursing Home Reform advocate, and later served as a Volunteer Guardian Advocate through Eldercare for residents in care facilities with no family or friends to advocate for them. I was able to view their nursing records and communicate with staff concerning their needs and my concerns. I understand the substantial risks residents with diminished mental and/or verbal capacity often experience when there is lack of oversight from friends/family or interested advocates. I am also very knowledgeable of the importance of researching the ratings of care facilities and personally visiting facilities prior to the placement of loved ones.
After 9/11, I served as a volunteer and Ambassador for a non-profit Troop Support organization located in California. As such, I visited care facilities to assist residents in preparing personalized care packets with donated products we provided for delivery to military members stationed overseas. As a result, I was able to visit care facilities of various ratings and see first-hand how residents are treated.
Some of the other reasons are not specific to my knowledge and work relating to the elderly and care facilities.
As a Christian Pro-Life Conservative Republican, I have been involved in many campaigns over the years supporting and working to elect candidates who share my values and unseat those who do not.
Some of those efforts have been through one of the non-profit organizations I co-founded, Women On The Wall. Along with my Co-Founders, Officers, and Advisors we focus primarily on the issues of Life, Education, and Immigration / National Security. Our primary goal has been to build networks to educate, empower and encourage the engagement of our fellow Texans on the important battles we face.
We have worked since the organization’s formation in 2008 with many key Texas Republican Party leaders, Legislators, activists and other like-minded State and National organizations and individuals to protect America's children and the safety and prosperity of our fellow citizens.
